Moving

Tower moments. The tower card in tarot symbolizes sudden, life altering, and unavoidable change. It usually refers to a surprise. It can be spiritual, financial, emotional because it doesn’t predict the future. Usually there’s somewhere in our lives that is less stable than we realize but it’s up to us to extract helpful information from its presence and consider addressing what needs attention. Sometimes though it can show up and reference a current lifequake.

My family, is in the middle of one such moment. Ever since my mother’s passing we’ve spent time and energy clearing her estate. Since she was a dragon she hoarded many items of inherent value and personal value. We knew from the moment we moved here that it had to be temporary since the sad basis of moving here was to care for my mother until she passed. With that understanding we had no idea as to when this move would end other than when the estate was settled. Move ahead 6 years and the estate is almost finalized, most of the items of her household have been taken care of and the Tower moment hit.

We have until 7/31/26 to leave this house as the landlord has decided not to extend the lease. We have no idea where we are going to land or much of anything really at this time. So we’re selling off everything that we don’t directly use. All of us are scared to death. We were once homeless and that has left each of us with major scars. There appears to be little to no help and so I am trying to do the one step in front of the other without being able to see ahead while attempting to keep my internal balance and still manage enough self-care to physically weather this challenge. I won’t go into details beyond that we’re in Albuquerque NM – need 3 beds (can’t compress due to mental health issues) and a place where my 4 caged birds are welcome. Since my keeping them is why I am now looking for a home, it would be unthinkable to now send them away. Any help would always be appreciated.

On that note, I won’t be writing much except maybe a check in until I have time. Time right now has other things to cover.

Thank you to everyone for reading and chatting. May the road rise up to greet you , the sun never get in you eyes and the breeze be gentle on your life.

Susan.

  1. Dear Susan,

Your mother’s dragon hoarding left a truly remarkable legacy, yet I completely understand the Tower card’s sudden upheaval feels much less like a gift right now. It’s perfectly logical to feel terrified given your past trauma with homelessness, but remember that clearing her entire estate for six years proves your immense resilience. You’ve already done so much heavy emotional lifting; now it’s just logistics.

While I can’t offer housing in Albuquerque, I admire your dedication to your four feathered companions. It’s incredibly thoughtful that you won’t abandon them. Since you need a large place welcoming caged birds, I suggest reaching out to local avian rescues or pet friendly housing boards, as they often have hidden networks.

Take it one step at a time. You’ve navigated the darkest parts of grief, so you won’t let this final hurdle break your balance. Stay grounded, and may that gentle breeze find you soon.

    Best wishes,

    Bob
