New Feathers

There is a new bird in the house. Poor little thing is not doing well. This time though it’s not a pigeon. It’s a very tiny parakeet. A friend of mine brought it to me this evening because it wasn’t doing well at their house. There was a cat there that thought it would make a tasty treat and so the little guy was relegated to a cage up high in the bathroom.

It’s missing feathers and in dire need of a bath. But the bath will have to wait. The last time I had a parakeet I found it and then another found us. The first one I found in my lawn in Houston, Texas. It had been attacked by a cat and we took it to the vet and got it healed up. One day while it was outside in the sun – in its cage – another parakeet landed on the hanging cage. I opened the cage door and the newer parakeet walked right in. They got along beautifully but my cat, Sir Purrs Up A Storm, – he was an Abyssinian and way too smart for this mere human – obsessed over the two birds and I eventually had to find them a new home.

This is a short one tonight. The interruption of a few hours left me with no idea where I was going with my previous draft.

I think the parakeet might be intimidating to my bestest boo Biscuit. We shall see how Biscuit, Bubbles and the little blue parakeet fare tomorrow. I wish you all the best day. Good night and thank you for stopping by.

Just because…

  1. ” Sir Purrs A Lot” is an amazing Cat name, even if it’s just his nickname lol. I’m glad this little parakeet has found a nice and caring home with you, good on your friend for trying to care for the parakeet too. I hope all the birds and kitties are able to get along from now on 🙂
