I’m really grateful today. After 2 – 5 years of staying home, unless necessity demanded going out, I went to the Aquarium and the Botanical Garden. It is in the mid 70’s (mid 20’s C) with blue skies and light winds. I walked too far and spent too long in the sun. I will pay tomorrow for my enthusiasm. It was worth every ache to come. I didn’t realize just how much being sick for a long time takes it out of you. I stubbornly walked nearly the entire garden.
It’s easy to forget joy when you work very hard not to dwell on sorrow. I have never been able to shut down a single emotion, it’s either I get all the feelings or none of the feelings. Today I simply sat amid the leafless colonnaded apple trees and breathed the air scented with birdsong and the distant sound of splashing water. This is from the Japanese style garden which is at the very back of the park. Water is a rarity here and treasured.
Just a short note from me today. It was a good day. I may not be able to taste and smell anything but today I could see and hear and feel the sun on my skin.
Enjoy your weekend. Spring will be here soon (March 20th, I believe). I need to go find some Paracetamol – Acetaminophen.
