When we find darkness where we were expecting light it can be a bit harrowing.

Today I sat down to write and found the mines of Moria. The past lays in wait, its unfinished stories piling up like tailings. Knowledge is not always gained in the sunlight. Even when we begin our journey in the light of day, the storms and clouds are not ours to control. Sometimes we must journey through the darkness and learn the paths within before we are free to emerge with our hard-won treasures in hand.

Those treasures can lead us to new adventures with wisdom gained and hope for what’s ahead. If you’re in the darkened spaces of your history, the twilight of memories never told, follow your heart and your intuition across stone bridges soaring above bottomless chasms. Don’t fear the Balrog, he’s only there to help you grow and become wiser as you find the light within yourself. No one can take what is yours when you hold it within your heart.
