Gotta Work

The thing about abundance is we still have to work. But the type of work is up to us. We take our abundance and create further abundance. We can choose to hoard what we’ve created, trade it for a different type of abundance, or we can share it with others. We can mix all of the above and we usually do. We save and invest, purchase more materials, and pay taxes.

Why do we have to work? Because any form of creation is work, from making bread to teaching. Making bread is work; it takes effort, knowledge, materials, time and practice. Teaching is work; it also takes effort, knowledge, materials, time and practice. Some will tell us on Monday morning that teaching is more important than making bread. That may be their view because they take their lunch as a given. But to the average bread maker, lesson plans might be a distant concern. We tend to assign less value to what we feel we have in abundance.

But what makes us feel we have an abundance of something?
